Our story
A family with deep roots
Our vision
A vibrant church where the power of Pentecost is alive.
Our mission
To glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel, making disciples, and building a loving, Spirit-filled community.
Our history
- 1962
Rev. W.L. Nelson takes the church with only four members and the doors about to close. He and Sister Nelson build it on prayer, faith and a passion for winning souls.
- 1986
Sister Nelson, an ordained minister, becomes pastor.
- 2010
Her eldest daughter, Joyce Pattison, becomes pastor, with her husband, Rev. Dwayne Pattison, as co-pastor.
- Today
Pastor Joyce continues to lead the congregation today, with the support of her children, grandchildren and many sweet, faithful parishioners.
A legacy of worship

Music has always been at the heart of our church’s ministry. Joann, the youngest sister of the Nelson family, and her husband, Ray Welk, formed the gospel group The Messengers. They won first place against 27 groups in Seminole, Oklahoma, and recorded two CDs.
